Maybe , you recognize some of these for yourself?
- My whole family is ‘big’
- I’m older now
- My hormones are wonky
- My thyroid is weak
- I’m too stressed...
And yes, we may experience these at some point in our lives, but they are not the real problem.
So what’s really going on?
The truth is, it’s all about what’s going on behind the scenes…it’s all about your habits. And this includes your Thinking Habits too, about what is possible for YOU!
See, our brains are really in control here. Making new habits take time. They require what we call a cognitive restructuring, which creates new thinking habits. And this is the real game changer.
So now, post Thanksgiving, now comes Christmas, then New Years celebrations, all melting in to one big eat-off!
It’s no wonder women feel desperate during the holidays! (And why my calendar fills up in January!)
But did you know that most women add the extra yearly weight during this holiday time?
And without a proper strategy, that weight just stays on…and then another year comes around, and another…
And before you know it, there’s that extra 30 or 50 pounds that simply didn’t leave your body, and it just adds up year after year.
So here’s the truth of it all: when you keep trying the next best diet, you're still not addressing the real issue.
And it is rarely ever about not having motivation, or not caring about your health or your body. Far from it.
Because every woman I meet is in some war with her health or her weight, and she is always blaming herself.
And the irony is this: yes, it IS your problem, but if you aren’t aware of what you are doing, then it’s really out of your grasp, right?
Just because you reach for that sweet, doesn’t mean you are actually aware of what is happening in your brain, what emotions, and what frequencies are at work, undercutting your best health regime.
And that’s where I come in.
When you understand the real problem, you can begin to over come it. So let me show you how…..
It all comes down to creating Healthy Habits
You do habits without thinking everyday, like brushing your teeth, drinking your coffee, checking email…and these require NO effort to do, right?
Your brain kind of checks out, because that’s what a habit is…it allows you to go on remote control, and this is helpful because it frees up mental energy for other projects it needs to focus on.
It’s all about survival, baby. And energy preservation.!
So this is the jam behind losing weight, and exercising your body consistently. These too, can become a habit, where you don’t have to force yourself to do them, they just happen.
And this is exactly why diets or New Years health plans don't work, because they are temporary. You force yourself to do them, but you really don’t want to.
So how do we make new habits stick?
We gotta push the Reset Button.
See, your body wants to avoid discomfort (doing things you don't like) and repeat comfort (things that bring you joy)
If you hate exercise, you will find yourself short of time at the end of the day, and you simply can’t fit it in, right?
But we will make time for the things we like, but we won’t, for the things we don’t like. That’s just human nature.
And this is why weight loss and healthy weight maintenance for some women are a constant struggle, yet for others, it’s seemingly effortless.
And our backtalk will support our views, because our brains don’t like to change what we are doing, really.
So we hear our own voices, our own beliefs to support our viewpoints: she doesn’t have kids, she doesn’t have weight issues, her hubby is there to help her, she has more time….etc etc…
And yes, we all have different lifestyles and responsibilities, but when you truly want something, you will make it happen. We all will
So, what needs to shift here?
Be Decisive!
When we decide we want something, we really go after it. That’s because women are so powerful…I truly believe we are the most powerful force in the Universe. And we can accomplish anything we want, when we put out mind to it.
And our success is based on what we truly want, in our hearts. It’s not what we think we ‘should’ do, it is outside our logical mind. It’s gotta come from inside.
So just take a minute and see where your health and your body is at. What are your results? Are you getting the results you want and deserve?
If not, then we gotta change your Outlook.
Because we all have ‘stories’ that craft our life, our beliefs about what is possible, and those stories are either Empowering or Disempowering.
And for most of us, those stories are not ours. They are hand-me-downs from others, from a looong time ago, expectations and conditioning that we had no say in, really.
And once we make these unconscious things conscious, then we can turn that energy around, and point your Life Compass to where it wants to go – SUCCESS!
It's not enough to be ‘motivated’. It’s not enough to have a strategy, it’s about going within, and kicking the Old Normal to the curb, and inserting a New Normal, with fresh habits that become embedded in Who You Are.
Then our healthy habits become easy, because we are getting rid of the Mindtrash and choosing another way!
Because us women who are successful at losing the weight, shaping our bodies and having a great relationship with food FOR LIFE simply look at things differently!
We’re not better, we’re not gifted in the weight arena (you should see my momma! LOL!), and we’re certainly not gifted in the genetics arena (like me!)
I simply made a decision a long time ago, punted my shitty behaviours and self sabotaging to the curb, and decided I wanted to live differently, to live with health, leanness, energy and feel good about my boy and my life, day in, day out.
And I want this for you too!
Because it IS do-able! You just need to be shown how!
Being healthy, happy and fit is available to ALL of us. It simply is the way we deserve to live, from this day forward!
