Client: "Because of a personal matter that happened on the weekend I deviated from
the plan and ate everything in sight.”
Me: "No. Because of YOUR CHOICE OF RESPONSE to a personal matter, you deviated from the plan. The matter itself did not cause you to deviate. You CHOSE to deviate in response to that matter."
The reality is that our circumstances do NOT dictate our outcomes. The way we CHOOSE to respond to those circumstances is what dictates our outcomes.
If we can, for a second, suspend our emotions and objectively realize the solution to our problems does not lie in food, then we can be successful with our body composition goals.
Think about it for a second ... If your child was having a tantrum, would you give them food to ‘fix it’? No. Because we know that food doesn’t help in that situation. Doesn’t that apply to you too?
Your circumstances may affect you, but they don't have to control you.
