Sometimes life is messy. Sometimes we hurt, it's true...
But the person that doesn't want to feel pain or go through more uncomfortable-ness is the one that will live only half a life.
As I watch my son move along a journey that gets tougher with time, I am reminded that this is a journey, and it is OUR journey. Did we choose it? I dunno.
New-agers would say yes, but that celestial knowledge doesn't take away the pain of being an earth Mother with a very challenged son.
I remember reading a story about a well-known actress who was being asked 'what make you so successful?' I think the interviewee was thinking she might answer
differently, that her beauty, or rock-start husband or untold wealth would be her answer. Instead she said, 'the ability to endure.' He didn't get it. I did, right away.
Sometimes the ability to endure is the most prized skill you can have. To walk through challenges and know that there is more to life - and beyond - than this, is
my greatest lesson. But it is still hard, to be sure....
We are not defined by our challenges, our bodies, our work, our money. We are defined by our dealings with other people, how we help others to rise up, and to move
forward despite the odds.
In my work, many people just see a fitness gal, but those in the know, those women who have been with me for years, truly know that it is way beyond
that.
My fitness is a platform for the start of the conversation, and connects me with other women, but it is about rising up into our own Power, to walk in our Truth,
and to have a community of like-minded Warrior Women where we can share in our triumphs and our hurts. We all hurt from time to time, and that's part of life. But it's still a good life. No, it's a great life.
We strive for excellence, greater understanding, moving to new heights, and understanding our Challenges as opportunities for growth, and lessons for others to
learn from. This is NOT about physical perfection or winning contests.
March on, Warrior Women. We see you. We know your pain and your sorrow. But we also know your capacity to endure, to love, and to move
mountains.
Thank you Tristan for being my constant counsel, my strength, my light, and my sense of purpose to bring forth all that I am called here to do, on this
earth.
You are my hero.
