What's the most important thing to consider when you are over 40 and you want to get fit, lean and healthy?
Your Programming MUST build into it care for your nervous system.
Yes, our nervous system is more important in many ways than the muscles we
are working, because IT runs the show.
See, the nervous system is the communicator to your muscles, telling them to move, expand, contract, grow.
The nervous system is also affected by food choices over time, so if you are not eating alkalizing, healthy whole foods the majority of the time, the nervous
system stalls out.
Water, sleep, fresh air all affect the nervous system.
And of course our thoughts and conditioning...how we see the world,
challenge, success, failure....
This is why in every call and with every client, I want to know what is going on in their life: are they resonating at a high frequency in their habits,
relationships, lifestyle (most people are not, hence they can't stay connected and committed to an exercise and eating program...their motivation wanes...this is NOT due to life, rather, it is due to their mindset not being congruent with their goals...we have to realign and build a mindset dialed into success. This takes time, and we can't think or read our way into it. It takes an outside counsel who knows how to work with psychology).
It's like you can't tickle yourself. You are not objective with Self. You're also not schooled in coaching psychology.
When I went into my health crisis in 1991, and again in 1999-2007, it was my nervous system that first showed clues of the dark walk I was to embark on. The
doctors were clueless, they had no idea what was going on with my body. Not ONE of them asked me about my life, my thoughts, my beliefs, where I was living in my head...they just had their stethoscopes, measuring tools, charts, prescriptions, their medical model had no way of sorting through a woman whose body and health was failing because of where she was living in her head. And I didn't know how to fix it. I was on the inside looking out. As they say in psychology, you can't see the label
when you are inside the jar.
So my body began to fail me. In all reality, my body (like yours) was doing the best job it could, but it was taking its cues from the input in my brain - stay
strong, muscle through, resist the urge to rest, you gotta keep going, your family and your world depend on it.
I went to counselling...it only strengthened the very stories that were running like wildfire in my brain. There was no shift in my
psychology. And yes, most times I was trying to do it all myself. I know me better than me, right?Wrong. And that was where I messed up, for years.So when I got really sick, I sought out the people and programs and
philosophies that I needed to shift that warrior-like mentality that for many years, got me through some tough stuff, sure, but it was now working against me. I needed to be more malleable, flexible, to let go of control. Only then, would the real stuff be able to come up.We do not surrender easily. Oh we will surrender, but only so much, until the pain passes, and then we clamp back down again into the usual self. It's all we
know.It is only when life rips everything away from you that you are now at the mercy of no choice. That was where I was living for years.Yet, I still tried to barter and hustle my way out of it...I would start feeling better and me like my 'old self' again, and soon, I would fall into the same
unconscious patterns and my body would fail me again.Know that where you are right now, is exactly where you are telling yourself to be. Your body is doing exactly what you are telling it to do. It is trying to serve
you the best it can, and when it fails, it is because the input that you are inputting is off kilter, is all.If you are truly wanting to shift your body, your health, your mindset...If you are truly ready, and I mean ready (it doesn't mean you're not afraid. Fear is a good thing because it means you are moving outside your comfort zone) to
