Is your Food Plan built for the years? One of the most important strategies we implement when a woman joins our Mastery Lifestyle Program is to craft accurate and powerful Food Plans for the client, based on their age, activity, body stats, diet history, current metabolic state and lifestyle.
This requires that every client do a Food Log for 2-3 days, where they upload their food timing and pics (and full food disclosure is required here...no cleaning up their diet
for this homework!). This gives us a very clear picture of many things...but especially, how their metabolism is working NOW! This last point is super important...
Why? Because most food coaches hand out food plans already made, with calorie counts, meals, without learning about the client’s current state of her metabolism, their lifestyle or
their habits.
See, my big thing is this: how can you know what to give them if you don't know how they have been eating for years?
I also wouldn't hand out a fitness program unless I knew their lifting history, past and current injuries or restrictions, access to equipment, and more. Because when
you see how they are eating, you can learn about their individual metabolisms, because food choices, timing and life factors create a 'picture' of where they are at metabolically.
THEN, and only then, can we build a plan that will allow for proper weight loss without plateauing...a plan that stifles hunger cues, supports feeding the creation of that lovely, shapely muscle, and (most importantly) helps the client understand why they may check out with
food, why they eat emotionally and then we bust those habits to the curb.
It's about building an easy, sustainable eating plan that can be followed for life, with specifics for the 40+ woman (yes, we are different! And so too are our needs and strategy for SUCCESS!)
