When I was 20, I fell in love with weight training.
Then in my 30's I started competing on stage.
In my 40's things began to shift, in my life and in my metabolism and body. But I rocked on
through...I figured everyone was just complaining about this thing called ageing...I seemed to be mustering through pretty well.
Then major life challenges, much heartache and grief, and my body took the brunt of it - I crashed...for years...
Fibromyalgia. Chronic fatige. Depression. Panic Attacks. Followed by drugs and alcohol and other things I am not proud
of...
That was when I learned the truth - our bodies are a barometer for our life. It holds our secrets, our sorrows, our challenges...
I stayed ill for many years. It was at this point that I began a walk-about into all things mystical and metaphysical. Teachers, mentors, seminars far and wide...
I had to commit to my healing,
and do what I needed to do. The searcher in me was hungry. I stayed open, and took it all in. I had nothing left to lose. I felt like I was living without my skin.
I invested in amazing mentors, coaches, programs that would up-level my beliefs and set me on a path to success.
It was not easy. But I all I knew was that I couldn't live 'back there' anymore. It was empty, dark, and
without meaning...what was life for? Why was I here? What is the truth of it all?
So when a woman comes to me and she feels listless, her body is ageing poorly, she has no energy, and she is filled with stress - home, work, finances, life - I get it. I know that feeling intimately.
Us women over 40 will all hit up against that wall sooner or later (unless you are living a
blissful, rewarding life and I have only met 3 women in my life who are living on high....amazing to be in their company). And when it happens, we often want to get our health back, our shape back, lose the weight, because we figure if we can get this piece right, everything else will fall into place. The skies will open up and the sun will shine.
But what I know for sure is that you MUST do the inner work also, and this doesn't mean
reading a book or doing your gratitude list or listen to another podcast (I can't tell you how many women I have talked to that are doing all of this, but still feeling like crap. Yet they keep trying...). It's not 'getting in' there.
Knowledge is not wisdom.
Information is not transformation. Life and growth is not an intellectual journey.I had the perfect body, for years, winning shows, eating exceptionally well, but there was an emptiness inside. I too thought that having the perfect body would catapult me into feeling great, transcending all my ills.....it didn't. I felt hollow.So today, I train with my focus on ALL aspects of my health
- my body, for sure, my food, absolutely. My flexibility, heck yes.And every day I lean into my personal growth work, as I have for years. I mentor and get mentored. I journal, meditate, pray, and this fuels me. I understand my triggers, I work with my Emotional Guidance System, I converse with my Archetypes. I run energy where it needs to go. I master my vibration, opening up to the subtle yet powerful offerings of awareness that we can
all access, but few know of this powrhouse of wisdom.Can you have a body transformation at 40, 50, 60? Oh yes, that's my speciality. But my women must be willing to commit on other levels too, to open up to the power and adventure around her, be willing to test outdated beliefs, to level up her Self Identity and to take full responsibility for where she is, which is mandatory for further growth.We aren't meant to survive. We are meant to thrive. But too few people stopped growing decades ago, and they are just plodding through life, reacting to everything and just trying to hold it together.I know that scene well.
