One of the biggest llies about our metabolisms is that we can 'boost' it.
I'm not exactly sure what this would look look like (or better yet, what it would even feel like!)
But 'boost'? Nope. Don't we
wish!
And in all my years and all my clients I've worked with, I've never seen this super-natural phenomenon happen (or maybe I just missed it. LOL!)
And as ageing women (if you're over 40, yep, you're one of us!), we have to take even more care in our strategy to build a strong, responsive metabolism.
It's
actually built week after week, month after month....
Throw another diet in there, or up the cardio, or worse, start cutting calories (because we're impatient, us humans) and we rip it down again, and, well, the cycle never gets broken.
Up, down, up, down further, up, down and it stays down.
So what's
the answer?
Consistency.
Patience.
Weight training (over cardio, yes...)
And of course, managing our food properly.
It's not rocket science, but there's a lot of noise out there in the industry that makes it look like it's sooooo
complicated.
It's not.
The main foundation?
Consistency.
progressive weight training.
Eating to BUILD metabolism.
Yep. Up. Not down. Don't cut your
food. That is NOT the first course of action us 40+ women should do, if we want to lose fat.
That should be good news to most of us, but still...those old thinking habits, and the fears around eating, still haunt women.
Thanks to a diet industry that keeps pounding this silly myth into us year after year.
And why?
So they can sellllll to you!
Fear sells (moreso than sex. No really!)
And I learned to step out of that nonsense game years ago.
In fact, I breezed through my 50's because of one
thing...
I stayed the course.
I wasn't swayed.
I've been in the game long enough to know what's real and what's not.
And most of what you're being dealt is nonsense.
And all it does
is make women more confused...
And it also can speed up the ageing process, and that's not what we want.
And yes, slow down your metabolism. The very thing we want to keep strong and working!
So next time you hear 'boost' your metabolism, just stay the course.
Train. Train well, with bodypart isolation work (aka bodybuilding-style)
Eat properly (meaning eat, don't cut, and manage your macros).
Manage your stress (yep, a biggie...it can create an acidic and overwhelmed body, that simply thinks it's too 'scary' to drop the weight.
And stay consistent. Day after
day.
Patience, grasshopper.
That's how the body likes to work. It needs to get into a groove, and stay there. No jumping around from diet to diet or changing your eating strategy all the time.
That's what I know for sure!
Keep it
Simple.
Keep it Real.
Peace out.

PS Check out my 8-week BLISS Program (still discounted to super-low....because, heck, its holiday time!). It's got everything you need...videos, workout cards, food stuff, lifestyle tips.....
I built it and filmed it when I was in my mid 50's, and I used it for years, personally. I still return to it now and then...when I want to shift things
up.
And if anything, these 8-weeks (you can use it longer, of course!!) will keep your head out of the madness that's circulating this time of year. Here's the link for more info again: HERE!
