Some of you might have seen this pic circulating around Facebook, a Christmas tree all packed with TONS of presents under it.... Ind the text is saying something like... How could they? Don't they know people are starving, wars are happening, people have lost their jobs... They need to stay humble and stop bragging.... Well, that got me riled.. And then of course all the comments coming along to back up this negativity...'yeah, you're right', 'how
terrible', 'inconsiderate'... Ladies.... LADIES! So I piped in (in my oh-so-gentle way...).. Hey, you don't know their story, and besides, who cares if they have alot of present for their family. Is it cool to shame this family into complying with your ideas of what is
apporopriate? Its CHRISTMAS, for heavens sake... And then, like little mice waking up, the 'supporters' quietly came in to comment things like 'I agree Karen,' and 'you said it. Bad energy here'. Look, I'm not saying that it isn't hard times. It is. But one
thing I've had to learn is to celebrate another person's victories. Because that is how we Rise Up in our own energy and life, to be happy for others. A rising tide lifts all boats, as they say. And in my Mastery Program, when we first get in our group call, we have a few celebrations....and yes, for some it's
tough. Because we aren't taught as a society to celebrate others...not nearly as much as we should. The majority prefers to blame and complain, because that's the comfort zone. And it keeps them from recognizing their own shortcomings. Judging, naysaying, blaming, rejecting another person's happiness is just not cool. And this is
just BAD energy. In business, I had to learn to celebrate other online successes even when I was slugging it out, day after day, year after year, no holidays, no weekends off. It felt hard, I was jealous, I was working soooo hard. But once I learned this little gratitude tool, things started to change for
me. It's the same with our bodies. We often will look at a hot, lean, strong woman in the gym and think 'well, she doesn't have any kids', or 'she doesn't have to work full time' or 'she doesn't have to work at anything, she was born with a great body.' But when we can celebrate that woman in the gym regardless of her circumstances...even if she WAS born with great
genetics, or has more money or time, it's not something to shame her about. And when we celebrate her, we are lifting ourselves up. And that lifts our family, our partner, our work environment, the community. Do you see how this works? Energy is
contagious. So please be careful where you put yours this holiday season. And what frequency you are resonating at. And it's not about always 'staying positive'. It's about clearing out your own mess, doing your own, work, and clearing the clutter away the past. It's like when you're beating yourself up with another diet, another
workout program, and its coming from anger, resentment, frustration or resignation, these are NOT energies that build a healthy body, OR a healthy mindset. Mindset is everything, when you want to build a great bod, when you want to shed the weight (and keep it off) and when you want to age with grace, style and self love. These dark, dense energies can never, ever create self
love...and we need that to create a truly healthy body. And we need more love in this world right now, not recrimination. So this holiday, decide to celebrate everything and everyone around you. Just try it. See how it feels. Don't make up stories or meanings in your head that minimize or chastise others..because that pattern can
be your habit too. Stop shaming others for their lives and opportunities. Decide to do differently. Peace out. Karen. PS Here's a little gift for you, my 50 Reasons to Train., to lift your spirits and keep you focused on doing what we need to do, and what we all can accomplish in 2024...creating a strong, lean, healthy and ROCKIN' body at 40, 50, 60+! |
