Hey
Last week, I spoke to a lovely lady who was frustrated with years of the start-over-on-monday habit.
She wanted to lose about 40 pounds, to train with consistency and to stop bingeing on the
weekends.
So did we talk strategy?
Yes, of course. She had read alot and trialled alot of diets, and she DID have success with losing 30 pounds at one point...then it all came back on.
Familiar story?
So was it the food? The Diet?
No.
It was her. This had become her 'habit'. She was unknowlingly rooted in a story and it was on repeat.
Every 'failure' she experienced strengthened the 'story' that weight loss and getting fit was 'hard'.
Then she would end up at the same place...watching
the weight come back on...
Same thing, year after year...
And now she was heading toward 50, and still fighting the process...
Still trying to 'work it out'.
Living in Resistance, not FLOW.
It was pretty easy to assess
what was going on with her in the dark recesses of her mind because this is my jam...this is what I do. Get underneath it all.
It's not lack of motivation or willpower. Not really.
And when women say 'I know it's me that is self sabotaging", knowledge is great, but it's still not real clarity here. Exactly WHAT is the self sabotage (name it) and HOW do we clear
it?
This hard working lady was caught in a loop, she would look to Google, or another diet, talk to someone else about what they were doin....apply, see some success and then WOOSH....it all went away....
And back she would go.
So when I started going into deeper waters, looking at her unconscious habits and bringing them to the
mirror for her to see...she was pretty enlightened.
She 'got it'.
"This is exactly what is happening!', she said. And she felt a huge sense of relief.
She wanted to know about my 16-Week Mastery Program, so I went over that for her also.
We went over the set up,
how it worked, the investment...did she want a payment plan?
Oh yes please...
OK cool. Here's how we can work it...
Then the classic - I have to talk to hubby...
Then the next day...
I've decided I'm
going to go to our local gym and hire a trainer there...
Was it hubby? The cost? The commitment?
Who knows, she never said.
"The committed will always find a way".
Perhaps it was because she didn't want to spend the money.
Perhaps her hubby said 'no way' which is (sadly) often the case.
OR what women often do to keep the peace...downplay it to keep hubby happy....
Keeping the peace....
Meawhile, our body continues to age, the weight continues to stay, the aches and pains and health issues
increase over time...and self esteem and self love continue to be jeopardized....what is the cost to THIS I wonder?
