Yesterday I did my Metabolism Over 40 coaching lesson on zoom (my apologies, some of you couldn't get in...).
It was a fairly in depth lesson, and the main gist of the lesson is that metabolism is actually made up of a bunch of little
metabolisms...
These include age, set point, food, exercise, cardio, mindset, and lifestyle.
Can you guess which one topped the #1 way to create a responsive, strong metabolism and which ones didn't? (I go into that near the end...the answers revealed!)
This is in particular to 40+
women, and what I presented is NEVER taught by a trainer or nutritionist. They just keep dishing out training plans (telling you you have to train harder or train more days) and nutritionists hand out food plans.
Then it doesn't work, and women return to the diet conveyor belt, and therein sets the body up for fat GAIN over time (research shows that if you did even ONE DIET in the last 18 months...you've set the stage for
easier fat loss moving forward. We talk about why this is too, in the video).
I'll be concluding about metabolism next Thursday (yes we still have more to talk about) and I will take questions.
Just remember these two key takeaways.
1. Metabolism is NOT dependent on your age,
and....
2. It's not your fault that you are struggling with it. It's because you aren't given the real info, is all.
Why? Because 99% of the trainers and nutritionists out there don't really understand it, or they mimic the popular trends of the day (keto, more exercise etc).
They are looking at food only, but
that is over simplifying it. It's NEVER just about the food. It's not even just about your 'thinking' about the food.
This is where you gotta take a LONG step back from the food aspect, and have someone in your world that can take on a 360 degree viewpoint, and has psychology on their side (and tons of experience too. Having lived through it themself is helpful too).
And most certainly, clients can't 'fix' themselves, because they can't see their own blind spots. That's why having a coach is necessary (a good coach, a qualified coach...ask for references and credentials and case studies too!)
I've always been obsessed with human psychology, because it dictates your success in all areas. Always.
