When I go over a client's homework pieces from our Program modules, it often gives me a 'topic' to discuss in our weekly Wednesday Coaching Classes.
I wanted to share a bit of our coaching process in the hopes that you have (or can find) someone to
support you in your body transformation at the DEEPEST level, which I feel is an absolute necessity.
Today's 40+ women want more. It's not JUST about weight loss, or getting a great bod. Important, yes. Do-able, absolutely. But they are longing for more...this is evident in the calls I do with women every day.
"You cannot have a physical and
sustainable body transformation without an emotional one." I stand solid in this philosophy, and it serves me and my female clients very well.
Of course, if all you want is a workout and food plan, fine. But I don't work with these simple variables. I coach the whole enchilada.
One of the topics that seems to affect all of us women (and that is coming
into my inbox, from my current clients working our Program) is the 'conditioning' we have been affected by over our lives...
We are told to 'look a certain way'...
Our mothers may chide us or poke at us regarding our bodies, weight, etc. (this is the Mother Wound many of us have experienced).
We are expected to define and live along certain 'rules' and roles...this
may be 'get a good job', or 'don't rock the boat' or 'make good money'...'marry well'...or even 'you're not whole until you are married...you SHOULD be married by now'...
On and on it goes...
Status, career, accomplishments are all fine, but often it is other people's voices that we hear in our head that cause us to make certain choices.
And therein begins the path
of living from a 'conditioned' mindset, rather than an authentic one. Living from patterns and conditioning and beliefs that are not in alignment with living a fulfilling life.
We may also call it our Wounded Self, living from our Archetypes as we learn in Module 9 in our 16-week Mastery Lifestyle Program for 40+ Women, a tough module for most members because this is often where the 'waking up' happens, when we begin to understand how we might have
'sold off' our own dreams and desires to live a 'safe, predictable' life, that is often fulfilling the expectations of our elders, society, or what is the 'right way to live'.
It is apparent that this tendency to downplay our own unique gifts, our life, our desires happens to us all (and we may not even know what our desires are, but that quiet nagging you feel, that grows with age, and even more, when you see a woman living on her own
terms).
I lived an easy, fairly nice financially comfortable life in my 20's and 30's. No real career, just in hospitality (which back then, in a tourist town, we made a TON of money. I was making more than my professional dad). It was easy, fun, my life was my own (I also had no kids, no mortgage, no spouse...yee haaa!).
Do I long for those days again? Of course, especially when life gets tough. To be able
to cruise without a care in the world....but that is what our youth is for. And at a certain time it is time to Adult up.
When I became pregnant with Tristan, I was in university, and working at...you guessed it...the local pub to support my student loan. And when i found I was pregnant, I decided right then and there that I was going to get a 'real job'...a career. I most certainly did not want to be a new mother and waitressing to support my boy. I
didn't want to regret that moment, where I didn't have the courage to shift into something more meaningful for me and my family (I had already completed a diploma program in Recreation and once done, I went back to the comfort of waitressing).
Don Migel Ruiz in The 4 Agreements talks about this 'conditioning' and how we stay 'asleep' in our lives because we live on remote control, doing as is expected of us.
It is a dull, preditcable way to live. Good money? Perhaps. A role that gives us social status? Maybe.
And these in themselves are not bad things, but when they are living through is as a way to comply, to define us, that is where we begin to live not from joy or confidence or self love, but rather, we are shielded by our roles.
We are Human BEINGS, not Human
DOINGS.
I see too many women who come to the midway point in their life, maybe having amassed alot of 'life rewards' such as riches, social status, solid well paying jobs but their souls are thirsty.
They do not always know HOW to define it, but the feeling is always there...a deep, quiet longing....
They begin to ask: Why am I Here? What's important to me? What is
my Purpose?
And they take it out on the body...with poor food choices, bingeing, over working, taking on too much, people pleasing, perfectionism, fixing, rebelling....you name it.
These are archetypes that have outlived their original role of helping us through perhaps a rough childhood...and now, they show up and steer us away from our Empowered Self.
We are
living our Wounded Self, with patterns and conditionings that don't allow us to grow, thrive, and Step into Who We Really Are....
We will delve into this place on our Wednesday call. Please stay open and curious (our two biggest values that allow us to 'see' and grow) as we peruse this most interesting concept that most women are living through.
It's time to step into our Greatness, our Vision, our
Life.
And our bodies need us to live in Alignment with Who we Are...
Then we will be 'loving ourselves into health', living in control of our food, moving our bodies as they were meant to move, caring for it because it means so much to us. Our vessel, that we need to honour and protect and care for.
We are Warrior Woman, righting the wrong, stepping out of convention,
and stepping into our Best Body, Best Health, Best Life.
And that is simply the ONLY way to live a rich, healthy, fulfilling life.
Wednesday, 4:30 p/m/ PST in our Zoom Room for our Mastery Members.
Bring your stories, your questions, your curiosity! Looking forward to sharing and uplifting you all, in this most important topic that we all share, and all are
transcending in our all-important Work that we are doing together.
