I've had many clients over the years that come in and out of coaching with me.
One woman in particular comes to mind...with every contact with her, she proclaimed the latest 'health finding' was the reason she couldn't reach a
sustainable and successful body transformation...
It was because she wasn't eating enough (y'all remember this one right...it appeared on the scene about 10 years ago).
Then she figured her metabolism was 'broken' and needed 'healing' (now where's my hammer and nails?)...
Then she thought she was leptin
resistant.
Then it was gluten and dairy's fault. So she went G and D free..
Then it was all about the magic of macros...and she lived with a food app tied to her hip.
Then....she tried fasting (whatever version it may be...there are soooo many).
Beach Body, VShred, PGX90...and now the
new darling...Wall Pilates.
Then of course the low carb thing....always returning to Atkins stuff (except we don't call it that....Keto is much more cool....we don't want to look like we're stepping Back in time now)..
Then hey, let's head on over to this ketosis thingie...
15 years later, she still has not claimed her desired
Body Transformation.
She never invested her time or $$ into working with me because she couldn't afford it, and with all the free info out there, why pay for any of it?
Ive watched this personality type for years float on by, never really diggjng into the Work, but merely staying distracted, living in the madness of
info-is-king-and-I-just-need-to-find-that-one-thing-that-Ive-been-missing-my-whole-life kind of rollercoaster?
This is not a strategy issue....its a SHE issue. It is a pattern, a conditioning. It is often a way to keep oneself distant from taking any real responsibility or doing any real work, the deeper stuff that is required to change the body, the habits and the life. This can be conscious or
unconscious.
And without a course correction, it could get even worse...
In her next try, she might decide to throw in a cleanse here and there....yeah, it's because she was full of toxins and they were preventing Wright loss.
Now here comes hormonal havoc, thyroid issues, adrenal fatigue...or boy, this will keep her going in
circles for years....visits to a naturopath over many sessions (I'm not knocking naturopathy here...its her pattern we are assessing here). Now it's liver cleanses and tinctures and clean eating....
All works for awhile but it's hard to sustain this as a lifestyle, so she catapults back into the ring and decides tk take a firmer grip...seems everyone now is doing a 'blend' of current strategies (or trends, really) so just to make sure we
cover a the bases, she blends carnivore with IF and keto and you've got a new one on the horizon...the CarniKetoIF thingie.
OK...let's STOP THE MADNESS FOR A MINUTE...
What if....just What IF....she had of made weight training her major, ate in a calorie deficit (day in, day out...ok, a few fun days or meals here or there to enjoy...its called Life!, but food management is KEY
here....I know, sounds too simple, right?).
Lift heavy sh*t, 4-5 times a week. Hydrate, sleep, manage your food, keep your protein up.....eat whole foods that GROW in nature that way, go see an endocrinologist about your hormones (you will feel better if they get balanced and you may even lose a few pounds but that extra 20 or 50 pounds is not your hormones' fault...).
Get rid if the
lousy job, lousy friends, lousy parts of your life that are dragging you down...maybe even get some therapy or a mindset coach to help you GROW!
Throw out the self help books....they get you excited for maybe 2 weeks but there's no real change happening...oh and stop filling your head with podcasts and actually APPLY some of this sh÷t into your life....take ACTION.
Meditate. Pray.
Read (yeah...remember reading?. Journal.
Spend time in nature (no cell phone please...just walk and breathe....listen....).
Get OFF social media. Limit it to 30 minutes a day (yeah, you can).
RINSE AND REPEAT.
It's not fancy or braggable stuff. It's real, some,
basic.
Consistency ladies, in the basics.
Many of us live this way...a simple, real life in a healthy body that is ageing WELL. Lean. Strong.
And our minds are calm. grounded. At peace.
We are fulfilled, joyful.
Life is
good.
That's how it's done in the REAL World.
And if you want to, INVEST your time and money into a mentor or coach or Lifestyle Expert that is doing things RIGHT, with ease and flow, and it's someone you admire and who is living in a body and life that looks good to you, that inspires you and that you want to learn from.
That's it.
That's all.
Please stop waiting your precious time and resources on what you are doing. If it's not working and you're not happy, change your strategy.
Get a REAL strategy outside mainstream.
Clear your head.
Love your
body.
Do the work.
And in a year or so, you will have completely transformed your body and health, and transcended your self sabotaging ways...living in a gorgeous body with a powerful mindset and an amazing future ahead.
Time is a tickin'.....tick, tock, tick, tock.....
