We want to get the best body shaping results in the shortest amount of time, yes?
And why not? That's human
nature, right?
But when we want to build a shapely body, there are certain rules that we must abide by. And HOW we train is super important. Here's an example...
I recall
Cheryl, a teacher who trained every lunch break at the gym where I trained. Every school day....
Cheryl would do whole body circuits in her 45-minute lunch break (gotta love that...she would ALWAYS fit in her workout. She was quite devoted), 5 days a week. She'd rush in, train, rush out.
One day, she was lamenting that after doing this routine for almosst 2 years, her body wasn't changing shape. She wanted more here, less there...you know how it goes.
In reality, her circuit training and whole body
approach was not helping her to reach her goals. I explained that if she wanted to see more progress, she had to initatie two things: Straight Sets (lift, rest, lift again...you know, the boring stuff) and she had to SLOW DOWN her training...NO circuits.
And because she was whipping through her workout and doing every muscle group,
she was not able to get the VOLUME on her muscles that she needed to see shaping results - that 'volume' being more sets per muscle group, more rest in between and this would allow her to lift more, resulting in more body shaping results.
'But I just want to get it done', she said.
And that's fine, but her goals and her training were not in alignment. She needed to shift up her training, which did NOT mean more time in the gym.
In fact, when you chop the body up into 2 or 3 different workouts,
NOW you can get the required VOLUME (saets, reps, weight, rest in between) on the muscles to see change, AND you cna lift a bit more and recover faster.
It's everything the 40+ woman needs for REAL results.
