Glutes are a tough bodypart for most women.
And for me, heading into show at 53 (pic above), I was fairly happy with the results of my glute training...things hadn't SLIPPED that bad over the years! But we gotta keep it up, right? If not,
well....
And these days, it's all about the bootie, right?
Well, I was on a FB site recently, and one woman was called out for claiming she built her 20-something booty with her gret glute workout (and yes, you could pay her to send it to you!), BUT...she had a BBL!
That stands for Brazilian Butt Lift, if you didn't know. It's where they actually put in prosthetics into each butt cheek so they protude more...outward!
Um, ok, if that's what you want to do, but I dunno...I've seen enough of the Botched episodes to know how this surgery can go pretty bad IF you're not taking precautions and choosing the right
surgeon!
OK, I digress.....my point is this: there is so much Tom Foolery out here in the fitness field, and many women can't always spot the fakers. And THIS is a problem.
And BTW, personally, I don't like the look of BBL's, because I like strong, more shapely butts, NOT just big basketballs sticking out from under your LuLu
Lemons...but, well, to each her own I guess.
And then, of course, the comments..."tell me how you got that butt" and 'You look awesome... how long did it take you'?
On and on it went...
Until one member found the post she did about
having a BBL and put that post on the forum site....oh boy!
But do you really think it'll make any difference? I don't think so, because trends are trends, and these days, it's all about the bootie (5 years ago, it was all about ARMS! Well, I was in my element! I've got pretty good arms! But eventually it faded away...ho hum...).
So how do I train my butt? I have different circuits that I move through, and are usually 3 exercises done 3x round, once or (better) twice a week. That style works best for me...3x3's as I call them.
See, my butt is in its 6th decade... so if I want to make it strong and shapely, I gotta keep at it, because Father Time (and gravity) is pulling that old bootie DOWN and
OUT.
And having strong glutes supports your lower back and core area..our glutes are our largest muscles! Too much sitting does sooo much damage to that area.
So here's one circuit I do...and you can do this circuit at home too...easy peasy.
