We often talk about weight training as the Key to Longevity. This is true, and research has long supported this for us 40+ women.
But we also need
HIIT...what is HIIT (high intensity interval training?).
We're doing fast movements in succession, without rest (gotta keep that heart rate up, stay breathless too) for a specific amount of time.
HIIT can be done on a cardio machine, or better, yet, with bodymoves, even better, with added weight (as shown here).
Then we rest,
repeat, with reps, circuits and time laid out depending if we're using it as a workout, a warm up or cool down.
Now some women can't do certain lower body HIIT moves because of knee or lower back restrictions...so this is one of my upper body versions that I us when my lower back
is acting up.
This week, our Mastery Lifestyle Members are going deeper into the basics of HIIT on our weekly Wednesday Coaching Session: what it looks like, how to apply, and how to work it into our exercise routine.
Traditional cardio is out. Little pink dumbells is out. High reps are out. Orange Theory is out.
We want to Train our Age, and
that means having a solid strategy with proper coaching, based on science, and with a good measure of experience and common sense thrown into the blend!
Healthy Ageing doesn't just happen...we gotta steer it along!
