At some point, we all have to accept ageing. This was one of my biggest challenges...
I hear women say it's 'just a number' and while I appreciate and understand this, what I think they mean is that you can start a healthy living plan at any age.
This I
agree with. But things change......
This is what has changed for me:
🏋️🏋️I train 3-4 days a week. The days of working out 5-6 days a week (we are talking intense lifting) is gone. I fought with this, but I have learned to accept it.
🤸🤸I now do Mobility Work and share this with my clients...it is beyond stretching,
pilates, essentrics. It has been a game changer for my back and shoulder and hip issues which naturally tighten with age. I want to live pain free and flexible.
✅I am on bio identical hormones. For 17 years now. A game changer for me (and many of the women I coach).
✅I cry...a LOT. My life is pretty intense with a special needs boy, and, well, all that life throws at us at this age! Crying is my medicine... 👨🏼🦽👨🏼🦽
🌎🌎I tune into the Energetics around me, using my many years in the metaphysical world to continue to support my spiritual growth and developmemt. You could say I live part time 'behind the veil'.
✅I am BIG on mindset work. For me, and my clients. It is the cornerstone of everything. I no longer just teach fitness and nutrition. It's like driving
blind...we need to transcend our self limiting beliefs and truly understand where we are standing in our own way.
🌞I no longer compare myself to others, especially the younger gals. Oh how I want to be 'back' there! But I do watch women my age (those long time bodybuilders from way back....the 80's and 90's like Cory, Lenda Murray, Rachel, Sharon Bruneau, Ava, Laura Creavelle), to see how they continue
on.
🍅🍅 I manage my food now more than ever. The body is less forgiving as you age, for sure, and we DO become more sedentary as we age (this was a tough one for me to accept...'I still train, walk my dogs for an hour'. Umn...and the other 22 hours of the day are in soft 'activity...walking, shopping...yep. Things change).
🍷I do enjoy my
wine...life is too short.
🌜🌜I really need to manage my sleep. It eludes me now...truth be told, ever since my son was born, I've never slept well. But I have my ways of managing it.
I know my Purpose and Why I am Here...to serve and support women into their best health and body and life. And it all starts with me...I MUST live what I teach. I want others to learn of their
Purpose too. It will steer your life in incredible and fulfilling ways.
To age well is not by accident, and we can't just 'age naturally. It is a skillset that must be utilized every day, and molds our choices around movment, food, and thought.
It's the only decent way to live...
