There are people on both sides of the fence in this heated debate...and it will only intensify, no doubt.
I'm not
sure where I stand on the topic, but what I do know is that when a woman reaches peri menopause, it can intensify all things, including fat gain and distribution.
So we gotta be ready to get ready, is what I'm saying...because unless your hormones are already balanced, you'll have a much tougher time heading into 50+ with all ageing factors showing up even more now...
Yes, the shift in estrogen (either up or down, or estrogen 'dominance' if you will, when progesterone drops) is often the culprit. And this then sends a cascade of signals to the rest of the body...
The foundational stuff - proper weigh training and proper food adherence - are still standard and can't be overlooked, but as 50+ women, we need to broaden our view.
While I'm a certified Menopause coach (Girls Gone Strong, completing Dr. Sims' course also), I brought on a specialist that ONLY deals in hormones...because, well, in my view, it MUST be a full time gig.
And I'm pretty busy handling all the other lovely stuff, like food, movement and mindset with my full client list.
And Kelly works with all my
clients on an as needed basis...they ask, she shows up. No push, no sell.
Balanced hormones truly are a thing of beauty, both inside and out. I've been living in that place for almost 20 years (mine started going whacky at 47). And yes, it IS possible for you also! If I can, you can too!
