It's always up for
debate...how much protein do you need if you want to change your physique, add shapely muscle, and lean out?
A recent study with the Layne Institute put that one to bed nicely, and as a paid member, I can share all this lovely sports and nutrition updates weekly, with my clients in my Warrior Women Fitness group. (And it is NOT age-specific, by the way, so that's good news for us 'vintage' ladies over 40, which is my
specialty!)
It's important that we stay abreast of the latest science-based training and nutrition information, because our time and resources are precious (i used to see sooo many women pay so much money to trainers who didn't understand the basics, NEVER stayed up on research, AND didn't have a clue about how to train and coach the 40+ woman. We ARE different, thank you very much!).
In short, you need MORE protein than you realise to add muscle, and
when you do, your bodyfat levels will go DOWN! Yep! It's all there, in the study. It supports what us weight training warrior women have known all along - combine 4-5 days of weight training with MORE THAN AMPLE protein, and you will see your body shift and change as it adds lovely metabolism boosting muscle, AND your bodyfat will go down!

Fitness gal, you will likely see it as a high protein diet. Nope. Our language and how we eat and live is different than the norm! You'll see!)
