It's time to Get Real...

At the start, it's always a sticking point when I ask clients to send in photos and measurements.

No one, I mean no one, likes this step. Not even me. Not even pre contest. Not even when I'm at 14% bodyfat.

But we have to be accountable, AND we have to know where we are so we know where to go. 

It's kind of like shopping - you gotta know how much money you have in your back account before you start buying, right?

And I also ask them to figure out their calorie counts. Oh boy, this is where it gets sticky.

"I don't want to count calories," I often hear. Well, too bad. I don't like to balance my bank account either, but I do. That's what responsible adults do, right? Just do it once, and do it right, and it'll open your eyes...NOW we have a good starting place!

Then once we figure out their calorie counts (apps always underestimate them...that's why I'm not really a fan), then we turn to the language of macro nutrients, with percentages that FIT the 40+ woman. Once we learn this, it's quite freeing, and the calories look after themselves. And we talk about how much to cut, and to where....it's different for everyone, but generalities DO apply!

And we talk cardio - too much and you will stall your fat loss! AND lower your metabolism even further, AND rip off all that lovely muscle / shape of yours!

And I will unveil my 5 Healthy Habits checklist that keeps women on track and moving forward (nope, we DO NOT start with counting or cutting calories. Surprise!)

Then we progress through the next lessons - how to TRAIN properly, and how to BUILD our SPIRITUAL muscles as well.
