'Knowing our issues is not the same as healing our issues'..... a very powerful passage from Jeff Brown's book Spiritual Graffiti...and this is what I teach within all my fitness and nutrition programs.
Why? Because we cannot create health and stay on track with our healthy habits when our hearts arent into it...when we feel lonely or isolated or angry, where many women are sitting in their lives and in relation to their bodies.
How well do you know yourself, ladies?
I often hear 'I don't know where I went...how did I get here?" I get it.
I get them. To be witnessed, validated, and to have someone hold space for them. This is where all the magic begins... And credible coaching is important here, to be with a coach that has walked through it all, and is on the other side now, having done her Work, and who helps others reclaim their bodies, their health and their joy.
We all have 'stories'...beliefs and conditioning that we crafted as a way to make it through. But we often are meant to outgrow them, but instead, they hold us captive in our own lives.
Many women get very good at recounting their 'stories', but then our stories run the show. And this is where we get stuck...in the story. It's not enough to know our stories, our sticking points, you must feel them, up close and personal. 'Name it, claim it, release it and let it go."
Yes, alot of our ills are caused by people in our lives, or circumstances that had us 'clay over' our authentic self, take on a mask or a persona, or three, (Good Girl, Fixer, Busy Bee, Wallflower, Wounded Child, Rebel, Victim) that now run our life. This can cause us to downsize ourself to stay safe, accepted within our family 'tribe' and towing the party line.
Or we learn to compromise in other areas, with too much work, a lack of intimacy in our relationships, turning to food or alcohol, online shopping and more. You can't change anything if it is at arms length.
Bring it in, close. Converse with it. Then it loses its powerful grip over you.
It's called Empowerment Coaching, and it's a game changer for my clients, full stop. (No, it's not 'life coaching').
Don't just 'think about it'. Do it. Be IN it. That is the only way.
When you do your gratitude list, are you 'doing' it, or being it? Are you simply checking the boxes, or are you closing your eyes and feeling within you, every line you write on that piece of paper?
Are you listening to podcats while you are on your computer, catching pieces here and there, multi tasking...are you dropping that training hour because, well, you're just not motivated? Are you snacking late at night just because, and you're not really hungry?
Where are you putting your energy each and every moment, every day?
Are you focusing on what you don't want, rather than what you do want?
Where and with whom, are you putting your precious energy? Are you surrounding yourself with uplifting, conscious people? Or are you living in a GroupThink, with gossip or 'office chatter'?
Are you putting aside time to do your emotional work? Truly?
And do you know what that looks like? When you walk the dog, are you truly present, in the moment, thanking the Universe for this day, the feel of sun on your face, the joy of watching your doggie play.... or are you listening to yet another podcast while walking, not really seeing the beauty of the trees, feeling the air rush into your lungs, hearing the crunch of gravel under your feet?
Be present.
Be PRESENT.
Waking up...to our needs, our life, our dreams, our joys.
Are you spending time each day, sitting with eyes closed, breathing in the 'what could be' part of your life?
Muscle in to every moment ladies.
Lean in, don't check out.
Move your body with purpose and commitment every day. Feed it well, so it can serve you well, from this day forward. And most of all, love yourself. Because you are amazing.
Your body is amazing. You are worthy. You've just lost touch, is all. Fallen away. It happens to us all, at times.
But the Wise Woman, the woman that is waking up never gives up. She is always looking, trying to find that Path to get her out of the forest and back into her life, and loving her body again. I can help.
Book a call. Its what I do, lead women back to themselves with love, ease and simplicity. And learning to love herself from "the inside out' first and foremost.
Then all things flow from this beautiful place, clean, aware, uncluttered and free. Simple, really.
Then the food and movement become tools of self love, they define her in fresh, empowering ways, and she takes them on willingly.
Its the only decent way to live.
